Last summer Simone Post participated in a 3-month artist residency in Arita, Japan. Arita is a town with a long history in porcelain, also known as Imari Porcelain.
Simone collaborated with Kinemon Kiln. She wrapped his deadstock pieces with a new layer of overglaze. Giving it a new layer, identity and existence with still showing its past; Post-Porcelain. By giving it new layers she gives the pieces from different series a new coherence and therefore can create new families.
