Nominated for BNA Best building of the year 2019Category Private Living Experience

Building a new house in the Netherlands within all regulations and usually with a small budget is always a challenge. If the house also happens to be in the middle of a nature reserve, it becomes even more complicated.

MONK architects: ‘In the past year, we, as an architectural firm and as clients, have intensely enjoyed cooperating in this enterprise. For an architect, designing a house is actually the most ultimate activity to do. The client’s own money, usually a small budget but an extremely committed client. The end result was, perhaps partly thanks to the search within the regulations, a house realized within the budget, in which the family can relax and enjoy nature with the city around the corner.’
