The Delft Garden is a new interior collection designed by Wilma Plaisier (Studio Plaisier), combining traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. The collection consists of carpet tiles, rugs, and wallpaper, and was developed in collaboration with MONDiLAB.
For this collection, Wilma drew inspiration from the soul of Delft blue: the brushstrokes. The imperfections, the color gradient from light blue to deep midnight blue, and the flowing lines combine to create a graphic interplay reminiscent of hand-painted pottery. Fragments of birds, flowers, and butterflies are mirrored and repeated to form modern, almost abstract patterns. In addition to the characteristic Delft blue, the collection also includes beautiful shades of chrome green and ochre yellow – a nod to classic polychrome pottery.
The Delft Garden is more than a series of products: it is a sensory experience in which texture, color, and pattern blend seamlessly together. Carpet tiles, rugs, and wallpaper speak the same visual language, creating a visually appealing and atmospheric whole. Each design can stand on its own, but also comes into its own when combined with the other elements in the collection. The patterns are modular in design and invite creative applications. They can be mirrored, repeated, or combined to create your own composition.
