At interior store Edwin Pelser, designers Nina van Bart and Willem van Doorn present the outcome of their creative collaboration: The GRID Collection and WOOD Pieces — design series made from discarded materials, where colour, material and construction come together.
THE GRID Collection
The GRID Collection is made from leftover galvanized grating panels once used as flooring and safety barriers in industrial buildings. These discarded materials are re-constructed with thoughtful use of colour and form, giving them purpose as furniture. The objects are powder coated for durability and a softer look.

WOOD Pieces
These handmade WOOD Pieces are part of a material study exploring colour and finish on wood. Made from leftover pieces found in Willem van Doorn’s wood workshop, they are carved and finished by Nina van Bart using surplus paint, stains, and oils. The leftover shapes from furniture projects are often surprising and inspiring. These remnants are given new value through careful treatment, transforming them into unique wall objects. The designer’s aim is not perfection, but to explore the expressive qualities of the making process.

Alongside these new collections, earlier projects by Nina van Bart will also be presented, including 3D Rugs and the research project Tactile Totems in Ceramics. This exhibition demonstrates how design rooted in material research can lead to surprising and meaningful forms — With a mission to create works that are made honestly, crafted properly, and with a deep sense of care and innovation.
