Chris Reinewald

Chris Reinewald (1955) is a culture writer based in IJburg. Trained as an artist (painting and free graphics) at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, he published on applied art in Tableau and as an art critic in Het Parool and later in Het Financieele Dagblad. His interest in design led to reports in MAN and Autoselect and to reflections in ITEMS, where he was editor and also editor-in-chief for a long time.

He acted as a committeeman and guest lecturer at the Design Academy and other courses. Around 2000, for 15 years, he shifted his scope to the Dutch museums as editor-in-chief of their trade journal Museumvisie.

He currently writes regular exhibition reviews for the website and paper edition of Museumtijdschrift, Alleroogen and the Boekenkrant.
