On Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, the cahier ‘Haico Beukers,’ written by Rob Huisman, was published. The presentation took place at Thonik in Amsterdam. Arjan Ribbens went into conversation with Haico Beukers.
Roots is a series of publications, started in 2005, which each time focuses on a different person. The aim of the makers of this series is to pay attention to the roots of Dutch graphic design culture. They are modest publications about the life and work of designers, producers, teachers, clients and others who were and are active within the graphic design field. This Roots is about the life and work of Haico Beukers.

Haico Beukers grew up in a creative family. For example, his parents made the puppets for De Fabeltjeskrant and books and magazines about crafts. After completing the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Haico and his agency Pluriform soon managed to acquire beautiful clients, including Arcam, Drukkerij Mart. Spruijt and PTT Dienst Esthetische Vormgeving.
Currently, the focus of his work is on creating books on urban planning and architecture, fine art and design. His commitment to content is always an important factor in the collaboration. Haico’s pluralistic design approach makes his oeuvre very diverse.
