Constructional elements

By 07-09-2023

during GLUE Amsterdam

Lisanne Meester makes collectible design and furniture pieces with a strong architectural form language. In her designs she likes to show constructional elements and materials that others might try to hide, such as big bolts, plywood edges and concrete. She finds beauty in these and uses them as key features of her designs.

A good example of such a piece is Junction, in which she makes use of the contrast between the heaviness and roughness of concrete and the light and smooth material aluminum. By using the right construction a junction of these two is made possible. With her series Mass she also plays with this material contrast, using sober concrete and colorful Plasticiet.

During Glue Amsterdam Lisanne will also release some new designs that set the tone for the direction she is heading towards with her design studio. One of those designs will be ‘Build’, a new series that originated from a passion for building, with the use of bright colors. Outspoken furniture pieces that celebrate and show her love for constructional elements and materials. All pieces that will perfectly fit in both retail and residential spaces.
