The fourth edition of GLUE amsterdam connected by design starts today! A four days design-route for Amsterdam designers, the general public, architects, brands, labels, showrooms, galleries, academies and other colleagues. GLUE amsterdam connected by design connects all locations and provides a substantive and attractive program for colleagues and the public.

What will you encounter along the way? We take you through a selection of the participants.

Rademakers Gallery
During GLUE, Rademakers Gallery will show their exhibition ‘Guiding the Future | No Waste’. Rademakers Gallery has had sustainability as an important pillar from the very beginning. Meanwhile, social awareness is growing and thinking about a more responsible use of materials within the art and design world is becoming more and more obvious. The gallery’s artists and designers explore and experiment with reuse of materials, they think about reducing waste and how nature and humans can work together. Rademakers Gallery will be a HUB during GLUE where you can also see Alan Nguyen, Shahar Livne and Yamuna Forzani. Location: KNSM-Laan 291 – rademakersgallery.com

Salon Of Matter
During GLUE, four makers gather for the group exhibition “Salon of Matter”. Frederike TopSanne van de Goor, Ruben van der Scheer and Isabel Quiroga, each of them works with a specific material. While their approaches differ, their common ground lies in their shared dedication to their craft. They welcome you in the impressive StadsSalon situated in the city center of Amsterdam along the canal Herengracht. Location: StadsSalon, Herengracht 528 – stadssalon.nl

Vitra
At Vitra, they believe that environments shape our thoughts and feelings, whether we are at home, at work or on the go. We work every day to better our surroundings through the power of design. Vitra follows an environmental, cultural and commercial mission. First shown at GLUE, Vitra will showcase the Eames Special Collection with exiting news and limited editions. Artek celebrates the 90th anniversary of the iconic Stool 60 by Alvar Aalto and the new Kori Lights by TAF studio. Location: Koivistokade 1 – vitra.com

Cathedrall
Cathedrall is building a floating cathedral of urban waste streams because they want to accelerate the circular transition. During GLUE, you can find Cathedrall at the D/DOCK HUB where also Georgie Frankel, Cooloo,Circu Leren, Zianetti, Nanette de Kool and Petra Vonk will show their work. Location: Danzigerbocht 55 – ddock.com

Yinka Buutfeld
Yinka Buutfeld is a multidisciplinary designer working with subjects surrounding identity and the multiverses of the human body. During GLUE she will show her project ‘Imaginary Mom’, where she touches upon the subject of adoption. The exhibition will show panels with descriptions of each ‘mother’. Yinka Buutfeld will exhibit at Thonik HUB, together with Elisa van Joolen, Ming Design Studio, Thijmen van der Steen and Octave Rimbert-RivièreLocation: Grensstraat 47 – thonik.nl

Studio HENK
Studio HENK is a conscious Dutch design brand that makes beautiful and functional furniture to last a lifetime. By taking circular design to heart, their customisable and made-to-order pieces are designed in-house and produced in Europe. The brand has ambitious plans to revolutionise the furniture industry from within to become fully zero waste. Location: Rozengracht 204 –studio-henk.nl

Beyond Space
Beyond Space firmly believes architectural thinking applies well beyond matters of space. Drawing from a range of interests, disciplines, and experiences, they seek to forge new connections to allow for the unexpected. Beyond Space combines creative entrepreneurship with a solid grounding in their discipline of origin, and couple their unconventional ideas with intuitive design. Location: Rigakade 10 – beyond-space.eu

Pansy
Pansy is part shop, studio, and creative workshop space, located in Amsterdam’s Czaar Peterstraat. It’s a shop with handpicked & thoughtfully designed colourful things created by their favourite women owned & led design studios, makers and artists from around the world. Dutch Design Hotel Artemis
During GLUE you can visit Dutch Design Hotel Artemis and their versatile program. You can see the exhibition “moments of transformation”, listen to talks/lectures given by the designers of the exposition, meet & greet and participate in a walking tour through the hotel. The Exhibitors are: Studio Vix, installation by Marthe Wille, ceramics by 7 students of SintLUCAS, textile design by Mariette Wolbert with a wooden product of Marlies van Geenen, and you can see the work of Henriette Santing- spacial art and design. Location: John M. Aleksandra Gaca
Textile designer Aleksandra Gaca designs innovative, woven textiles at the intersection of art, design and architecture. She works with brands, architects, manufacturers and institutions to create textile solutions, products and installations that translate her clients’ identities, needs and interests into woven form. This year she presents at Pieternel Kroes, along with INA MATT, WONDERS chair gallery, i29 and work of Thomas Eyck. Location: Reguliersgracht 98, Amsterdam

Claire Begheyn
The sincere wish of Claire Begheyn is that her work expresses her love for everything alive, handmade by men, and her respect and love for life itself. During GLUE, Claire Begheyn will show a flock of sheep and lambs in her studio and many shell pieces on walls. Also her newest work, based on the plant world, will be on view as well as wall specific work and interior related work. Location: Nieuwe Uilenburgerstraat 106 – clairebegheyn.com

Mia Karlova Galerie
Mia Karlova Galerie gives center stage to functional sculpture, rallying an intriguing roster of international artists whose experimental practices look upon reuse as a conscious act of new existence: sustainability enriched with a deliberate sense of meaning and the desire to provoke new emotions. Mia Karlova Galerie seeks to form a dialogue between works of various genres through a common emotional language. During GLUE, Mia Karlova Galerie will show a carefully curated group show of Dutch and International designers presented by the gallery – Jordan van der Ven, Sho Ota, Vadim Kibardin, Kartini Thomas, Jesse Visser, Femke van Gemert, Voznicki and Olga Engel. Location: Prinsengracht 510 – miakarlova.com

DUM
DUM takes a light-hearted approach to the contract market, promoting playfulness and color in offices and hospitality projects. Their goal is to provide spaces – hotel lobbies, workspaces, lounges, waiting rooms and the like – with distinctive yet domestic-feeling designs. During GLUE, DUM will exhibit an inspiring and colourful arrangement of graphics, textiles and furniture. They will be part of a joint design presentation by DUM, Martens and Martens and Wild Animals at Vrije Academie; where the work of AtKris Studio, Studio Papke and Studio Ro Smit will also be shown. Location: Vrije Academie, Herengracht 368 – dumoffice.com

Hotel Arena
Hotel Arena has been a cultural meeting place where they connect guests with art, culture and design. It has an open space where they offer young talent and established artists a place to exhibit their work to the general public. Hotel Arena supports cultural institutions and initiatives and let them use their spaces. During GLUE, Hotel Arena will be a HUB where Melchior van Dansik Design, Sandra Keja Planken Studio Noun and Satelliet Originals and PACT members Cheraine Baljé, Yamuna Forzani, Shivonne Alberto, Goldiie and Ričards Briškashow their work. Location: ’s-Gravesandestraat 55 – hotelarena.nl
