GLUE HUB – TANK

By 17-09-2023

During GLUE Amsterdam, TANK HUB is hosting designers VANTOT, Rick Tegelaar, Lisanne Meester, Rink Schelling and showing their own latest work.

VANTOT
There are not many designers like VANTOT who experiment in such a progressive and extraordinary way in the world of lighting. From LED to solar cell, Esther Jongsma and Sam van Gurp are lighting experts who deal with light in all kinds of aesthetic shapes and variations. If it is up to the designers, you can simply touch power, and electrical components are shown as a full part of the design and not hidden away in multiple sockets or thick insulated cables.

Rick Tegelaar
Rick’s work is on the frontier of material (re)development and engineering techniques but always with a delicate sense of aesthetics. Iconic design that embraces undervalued materials with a complete new technical approach. Rick and his team daily observe, explore, ask questions, and venture into the unknown to work on self-initiated and commissioned bespoke projects from their hub of imagination in Arnhem.

Lisanne Meester
Lisanne Meester makes collectible design and furniture pieces with a strong architectural form language. In her designs she likes to show constructional elements and materials that others might try to hide, such as big bolts, plywood edges and concrete. She finds beauty in these and uses them as key features of her designs.

Rink Schelling
Rink Schelling is a young ceramist, she developed The muddy collection, a collection of objects made from self-won clay from Zeeland, the south of the Netherlands. By not filtering the self-won clay Rink embraces the unpredictability of nature. She brings together craft, design and nature. The organic material in the clay leaves surprising traces. Intuitively Rink shapes her work, resulting in asymmetric and rough shapes.

TANK
A one of a kind-destination for meetings, shoots, workshops and events. Right in the heart of Amsterdam, on Rembrandtplein, this 250m2 city loft is carefully designed and curated by TANK. With our family of inner spacemakers, we amended the boundaries of the working environment, from solid desks to a connective experience where social transactions are fuelled and inspiration can flow freely. Here our TANKs are being filled with energy to battle, play, connect and create.
