The focus of this collection is the repurposing of fashion’s waste. It aims to gain back value for clothing. First of all by not letting it go to waste and secondly by asking the customer to not just be a consumer but a maker.
The main recycled material used are printed silk scarfs. An ecclectic collection of scarfs that each tell a different story and were owned by a variety of women. They now tell a new story.
The pattern pieces of one of the garments, the white button-down shirt, are available for sale, daring the customers to make it themselves. Konno hopes that this involvement will eliminate the idea that clothing is something to dispose of quickly.
