Rewrite Your Future

By 26-06-2020

Nieuwe Bossche School
The Nieuwe Bossche School is a lightly activist movement that stands for generous dealings with typography as an (illustrative) image tool and a generous use of color. The activism is expressed in the individual messages and the chosen medium; the poster in the street.

Four graphic design agencies from Den Bosch have united under the name Nieuwe Bossche School (NBS). A somewhat provocative name that responds to the illustrious and highly regarded predecessor who is  cherished in this city. In search of more space for the approach representing the current generation of Bossche designers, the NBS uses more opportunities to show good, contemporary graphic design in this city. Their goal is to make Den Bosch even more beautiful, more enjoyable, and more relevant. This collective wants to show that a poster (in the street) is a moment and a platform for applied arts. Often posters are subordinate to commercial messages; the collective shows that a poster can be beautiful, can excite and make a lasting impression.

The Nieuwe Bossche School is an occasional collective of four graphic design studios from ’s-Hertogenbosch: ATTAK, Autograph, Studio Boot and Studio Turbo. In line with their recently opened street exhibition ‘Rewrite Your Future’, they present their 40 best posters to date at the Werkwarenhuis. On a large format.
