Winners Algemene Beschouwingen Award 2023
The Algemene Beschouwingen (General Reflections) poster project received more than 230 entries. On November 22, both professional jury and public chose their winners.
Julian Naaijer was chosen by you as the winner of the Algemene Beschouwingen Audience Award 2023! His poster “Feminister” garnered 107 out of 1711 votes.
Joris Groot’s entry has been chosen by the jury of the Algemene Beschouwingen 2023 as the winner of the best alternative election poster 2023.
Without text, Joris Groot’s poster manages to address the urgency of voting. It immediately attracts attention because of the radical balaclava, which, according to the jury, symbolizes not only the protest, but also the anonymization of society. Social media is radicalizing and polarizing. Politicians are perhaps the first victims of this. The colored mouth emphasizes the voice and letting your opinion be heard. Despite everything, you must always continue to believe in a democracy and the right to vote.

Algemene Beschouwingen (General Reflections) is a platform created in response to the 2021 House of Representatives elections that focuses on designing alternative election posters. A project of Nieuwe Bossche School (ATTAK, Autograph, Studio Boot en Studio Turbo) and Graphic Matters. It is supported by the Antishit Foundation and the municipality of ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
