Moleskine – Alice in Wonderland

By 14-09-2015

Rogier Wieland graduated in graphic design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in the Hague in 2000. After a few years of working as a graphic designer he began making stop motion animated shorts. Milan based company Moleskine asked him to make a short video introducing their Alice in Wonderland Limited Edition Notebooks series.

Rogier: “The only character in the book that is a normal living creature is probably also the most famous one: the white rabbit that is running out of time. So, we tried to tell a very short story in which we follow the white rabbit running through different Wonderland settings that refer to the Alice in Wonderland story and John Tenniel’s drawings. In the end this story turns out to actually take place inside a part of the logo of Moleskine.”

“We tried to play with scale, gravity, perspective and other trick shots to give the film a similar weird, dreamy atmosphere as the original book.”
