Bij Priester

By 26-01-2018

The traditional leather goods shop of the Priester family has been a household name in the Zeeheldenkwartier of The Hague since 1913. When founder of Studio April, Amanda Hofman, heard that the store would close, she contacted the family where she was previously apprenticed. The result of their conversations is the new concept store: Bij Priester.

Bij Priester is the umbrella for a store with a sustainable bag label, repair workshop and clothing library under one roof. The name refers honorably to the history of the Priester family. You can also follow workshops at Bij Priester. Ms. Priester is involved one day per week as a source of information.

In the clothing library you can borrow the most amazing outfits from constantly changing collections of Dutch, beautiful, sustainable and fair brands. Already from 20 euros per day. In addition to established sustainable fashion labels such as Wintervacht and Yunit, you will also find items of young Dutch design talent, such as Ester Haamke, Judith van Vliet and Kim Philipsen.

Bag label Studio April loves recycled leather and a sustainable lifestyle. That is why she only works with existing materials. For example, leather from old sofas, chairs and coats. This means that every bag is different. With the store concept Studio April has also continued the craftsmanship of the Priester family. At Priest everyone is welcome to have his or her leather bag repaired.
