Children’s drawings
Inspired by chaekgeori (Korean, translation ‘books and things’) still lifes, designer Harmen Liemburg asked the children of group 5 of Arnhem primary school Kunstrijk to draw a picture of their ten most cherished possessions. This resulted in a colourful picture of what can be found in children’s rooms.
Work process
These drawings were the starting point for building a picture collection. The selected electrical boxes were drawn in Adobe Illustrator and placed side by side in order of size.
Landscape
Layer by layer, this created one large nursery landscape with a final length of 36 metres at full size. The physical division into sides, fronts and sometimes backs creates independent compositions that also flow into each other. All cabinets have their own theme and atmosphere.
