Handcrafted paper sculptures
In our daily lives, paper is primarily an everyday, modest material. We open envelopes, sign receipts, and make to-do lists. In all these contexts, paper feels mundane and ephemeral, simply a means to an end.
By exploring the material, understanding its dynamics, and making delicate adjustments, I am able to transform it into something entirely different. A precise series of folds lead to a pattern that transforms the material into a permanent sculpture. In these sculptures, I aim to showcase the valuable side of the material that often goes unnoticed in daily life.
This collection is entirely produced manually and designed through multiple folds that create a cross-based pattern. The exciting interplay between color and pattern is the reason why I never work in white.
