Eleven floors to meet, relax, work, learn, read, see, do and explore. Forum Groningen is an instant icon. In the first three months it received 1 million visitors. The architecture, the interior, the facilities and the programming: it’s bustling, it proves to be successful.
Forum Groningen is a cultural department store. It accommodates the city library, arthouse cinema, several exhibition halls, the Storyworld museum for strips, games and animation, an auditorium and halls for events, debates and lectures. Furthermore there is an experimental DIY lab, a restaurant, pub and kiosk, tourist office, two gift shops, free workplaces and a roof terrace with a view of the sea.
Forum asked G2K to create and realize the visual identity. The request: a dynamic brand style with many creative possibilities that can literally and figuratively move along with the width of the programming.
G2K developed a design system that is just as flexible and practical as it is creatively fillable. And at the same time very recognizable Forum remains. The idea reflects the iconic shape and function of the building. Like architecture, identity works as a framework for multifaceted content.
From this basis, G2K developed a multitude of formats, means of communication and style carriers. Digitally and physically, for every conceivable contact moments of visitors – from young to old – in the Forum and beyond. In addition to creation, G2K was also responsible for design direction and implementation management.
